mead1973 Asked: How can you tell if you need a root canal?
I know this should be a question for a dentist and I have been to a dentist and he didn't mention need of a root canal.I went to my dentist earlier this month complaining of on and off throbbing in the upper back teeth. He said I needed some filling which I had done but I am started to have the same throbbing again. He also gave me a full panoramic x-ray and didn't mention anything about a root canal.I feel I should seek a 2nd dental opinion but lets face it, dental is expensive even with insurance. Are there any good signs in how to tell if you need a root canal.I know the most obvious is pain but I heard you could need a root canal even if you have NO pain.I really would like to hear from people who have had a root canal or work in the dental field.Thanks.
